About Chattanooga Drain Field Pros

Chattanooga Drain Field Pros is a locally owned septic system contractor working unsewered property in and around Chattanooga, Tennessee. We replace failed drain fields, repair the parts of a system that are worth repairing, install complete systems on new lots, replace tanks and baffles, build mounds and alternative systems where the ground demands one, arrange soil evaluation and design, and handle commercial jobs for restaurants, churches, and campgrounds. We are licensed and insured in Tennessee.

The thing that separates a field that lasts from one that fails early is dull work nobody sees. Trench bottoms get cut level, so no single trench takes the whole load. The size of the field comes off what somebody read in the soil, not off what fit between the trees. An effluent filter goes in the tank outlet, because solids reaching soil end a field decades early. A distribution box gets set true, then checked again after backfill. Set that against trenches dug to whatever depth the machine happened to reach.

Hamilton County is not one kind of ground and we quote it that way. Valley lots carry clay heavy soil over limestone, and clay takes water slowly, which enlarges a field rather than ruling it out. Ridge lots carry thin rocky soil, and there the question is whether enough clean soil sits between the trench and the rock. Karst runs through parts of this region, so the answer changes inside a single parcel. That is the whole argument for reading the ground where the field is going.

We also say no. A field whose soil face has sealed does not get restored by anything poured down a drain, and we will not sell you a bottle to avoid an uncomfortable number. A routine tank cleanout belongs to a pump truck, and they are cheaper at it than we are. A toilet backing up over dry ground is a plumber's call. Turning that work away costs us jobs. It beats taking money for something that will not hold.
